Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead

Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead ★★★★

Oh shit, he wasn't a zombie?

Another film from the collection that I picked out for Mrs. DuLac's next horror film (her 37th of the month). I can't explain my method of picking them out, there's just something about certain films, even if I know she would never pick them herself, I know it'll be something that she'll get caught up in and enjoy despite herself. It has nothing to do with violence or gore either, but more to do with themes, attitude and the feel of the film. Hard to explain exactly.

Not sure if she loved it as much as I do, but she enjoyed it a great deal. The dark humor, the tension, the weirdness and the nice little twist on the zombie genre. It wastes no time on character development and goes right for the action, but you still end up caring about Barry, Brooke and Benny.

This movie also has lived up to multiple re-watches for me and I'll readily admit that Bianca Bradey is a big part of the reason why.
