    Not bad but not for me! Eddy no no does his thing. But on the whole — primal fear finds itself in that pocket of “they don’t make em like this anymore” where you kind of understand why.     Far and away my favorite film of SXSW so far. Clever, intimate, and undeniably authentic. A fresh coming of age tale which chronicles the story of Angie, an outsider in an oppressively white Texas suburb, played so expressively by newcomer Emma Galbraith that you almost start to wonder how anyone could help but identify with her. At just under 90 minutes, this film is air tight. As funny and brutally honest as the young woman it depicts. First time director Mei Makino is why festivals like SXSW exist — to create a platform for exciting new voices.

    Adored this movie. Always a pleasure to fill a blind spot, especially where Marty is concerned. Anyone who hasn’t checked this picture out should do so.
