Todd S. Gallows’s review published on Letterboxd:
I didn't expect much out out of this at all. I wasn't a fan of Napoleon Dynamite, and all I ever heard was how bad this was. So it's to my surprise that I've liked it this much.
The bizarre jokes and quirky low key visuals caught me off guard with all of the laughs they induced. Some cheap poo and projectile vomit jokes are added in, which definitely cheapen the comedy, but overall, this was inventive. From the strange and subdued characters, to the various versions of the science fiction novel at the centre of the story, we get a series of quirky events populated by losers, loners, and weirdos.
