Austin Michael’s review published on Letterboxd :
Being fairly unfamiliar with the genre, and totally unfamiliar with Ford's work, this is beautifully exciting new territory. The evolution of American unity against the backdrop of black and white myth making; Ford initially frames the various social and political ideologies in claustrophobic conflict, eventually opening hearts with the same expansiveness as the American landscape. Isolaters are humbled and the isolated are welcomed into the American Dream.
Ford seems to be playing with archetypes and illusory American ideal always promised and rarely (if ever) fulfilled. Freedom and love exist in perfect fusion, hope in the future melts divisive hate, and the sun echoes in the frontier shade.
-Obviously, Wayne's introduction is pure iconic cinema
-Can't wait to learn more :)
