First film of 2015!
This is not a great film by any stretch of the imagination; it falls tremendously flat in terms of characterization and in exploring the relationships between characters. However, it is an always tense, entertaining film; never boring, always engaging.
Basically, if you're generally down with what Mann does (particularly the Thief-Heat-Collateral-Miami Vice-style), you'll probably enjoy this film. It's not nearly as emotionally rich and rewarding as those films were, but the plot and the style are enough to carry you through.
