Matthew Bowers’s review published on Letterboxd :
Far more entertaining and engaging than I would have thought a remake of HALLOWEEN could be, and containing far more narrative cohesion than I would have expected from the director of HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES, this is nevertheless a misstep. The first half hour is interesting, but the middle section drags, and the finale is weighed down by a passive protagonist, muddles action-scene geography, and logic problems up the whazoo.
Also, Zombie, c'mon. You hold back Carpenter's theme until the first time he puts the mask on. Don't you know ANYTHING?
