Matthew Bowers’s review published on Letterboxd :
The pacing of this film--both on a macro and a micro level--feels very awkward and rushed. Character motivations aren't always 100% clear. And we mustn't forget the cringiness of a buncha white folks playing Japanese people. The first Laika film I haven't loved unreservedly (haven't seen BOXTROLLS yet, to be fair).
Still, it had me tearing up at the end, so it must be doing SOMETHING right, eh?
