Aaron Jones’s review published on Letterboxd:
I am not really a fan of Elton John's music but I have to say he has handful of pretty good songs Which I do like mostly his most popular ones. I was looking forward to learning more about him as a person and his career as I sat down to watch the film.
The movie shows how he went from Reginald Kenneth Dwight to how we all know him today Elton John.
Taron Egerton and Bryce Dallas Howard give good and convicting performances as their roles of Elton and Elton's Mum.
A few of the musical sequences took me out of the drama and the film some also felt a bit trippy and also a little out of place at times.
One or two scenes made me feel slightly uncomfortable tbh and towards the end the movie dragged. But there was definitely very interesting parts.
