The Godfather: Part II

The Godfather: Part II ★★★★½

Fun fact: I have a close relationship with this movie as one of the camera assistants on the Havanna shootings (actually they were done here on Dominican Republic) was one of my teachers on film school.

Its certainly a new experience looking at this film as a grown up YA than as a 15 year old kid. It also helps the fact that there was no commercial, like, man, I remember watching this on TV at 12pm and the movie ended like at 5:30pm thanks to all the TV spots.

Again, there isn't too much I can say that hasn't been told. Personally there isn't like many iconic moments like the first one, but the family drama gets a much epic tone this time around. This has to be the greatest "rags to rich" film ever to be put into film.

De Niro is fantastic as Vito, Pacino as Michael is a scene stealer - we get to see some of Al's broad and loud acting he has come to be known since.

Many complain about The Irishman's runtime, however, due to a strong script and performances, the time flies and you feel like wanting to go on a repeat.

All in all, and having already seem all three, I can say, without a doubt, this is one of the greatest trilogies in cinema history.
