  A laudation or maybe just exploration of the unknown that’s haunting and heartfelt and is on my mind frequently!

  I rewatched in honor of Kristen’s loss tonight (or rather, Chastains win. No comment.) I was disappointed but they don’t get it and we do and that’s good enough for me. It was neat to see Anders Danielsen Lie in this again after discovering his other work. He has such a small role but it’s very effective.

  remember when ari aster got his phone stolen out of his pocket by a fan and they called robert eggers from it but he wasnt answering so they called from their own phone and he picked up

  So many weird choices made with this, and I couldn’t stand any of them. All the old ladies in my theater loved it but this had nothing to say, and somehow it managed to say it badly. It feels twice as long as it is and if I hadn’t seen this in a theater 70 miles from my home, I would’ve walked out. Also, I have lots of family in Ireland and none of them say ‘wee’ that much. Seriously though, if you want a heart wrenching b&w film about political tension and fleeing your home, watch Cold War. This was shit. My head hurts.
