  I feel the same way watching this as I did seeing Being John Malkovich for the first time. I enjoyed it. It was different. But I don’t feel the hype is justified. Yet, at the same time I’m convinced on re-watch it’ll spring to life and suddenly everything will come together all at once.

  Everything wrong with this movie:

  1. Dale looks like the Queen of Hearts' castle from Alice in Wonderland
  2. The Arkenstone is kept in Erebor, not Dale
  3. Slag?! Are you kidding me? The dragon's name is SMAUG
  4. Smaug does not take the treasure of Dale, he takes the treasure of Erebor (The confusion of Dale with Erebor can be said as one, but it's brought up so many times that it's worthy of two separate points)
  5. "only…
