    Me watching this film is like when I read a page of a book and only when I go to turn it do I realise that none of it went in my head at all. I was just looking at words. I will watch it again because I really do feel like I’m missing out on a great piece of cinema, but this was a frustrating watch. Constantly getting annoyed at Tarkovskys decisions to cut away before anything gets any good. Also this has the most boring opening scene ever.

    Are we ready to call this a horror film yet?
    Its undoubtedly one of the scariest films I’ve ever seen.

    Amazing how much it lends itself to the techniques of the genre too, the whole second half is like Alien without the alien! An extremely elevated slasher with the facade of a sophisticated answer to… everything in the conceivable universe.
