  Just like a great work of fine art, this movie sets a mood, a tone and works it’s magic on the viewer without the viewer needing to know or recognise the craft that’s underneath but you can spot it.   Solid remake! Might even be better than the OG. Nearly went 4 stars just for the effects alone.

  Note to filmmakers, for a project like this hire cheap / unknown actors, have a good script and then just put the rest of the cash into the effects.

  Questioned whether I’d connect with this as it opens with a bunch of upper class privately educated boys and as the story goes on and leans into the dilemmas of the main two as individuals and less focus on the whole system then I got more into it. It’s gorgeous to look at.
