    For some reason, I don’t love the X-Men films (except for Logan, which may be the best superhero flick out there). The movies spare no expense and get many talented stars, but I just don’t care much about the plight of the characters.     Not one of Keaton’s top shorts, but entertaining nonetheless. It finds lovelorn Buster as the steward to a brutal ship’s captain — so brutal he casts sailors overboard to their deaths if they make a mistake. Worth a watch.

    THOUGHTS
    Star Trek is a great popcorn movie, filled with action, suspense and derring-do. Abrams has done a great job with the origin stories of the original Enterprise crew, and I love Chris Pine as the swaggering, act-before-you-think Captain Kirk, especially when partnered with Zachary Quinto's infernally logical Spock. Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and Simon Pegg round out a brilliantly casted crew. I’m not even a Star Trek fan, and I really dug this movie.

    THOUGHTS
    Get Out is one helluva thriller. When you add on the fact that it delves openly into the most sinister levels of white-bred racism, you’ve got a great movie. It’s reminiscent of The Stepford Wives and what that film did with anti-feminist chauvinism.
