Film by Tobe Hooper [#2 of 2 - ✔]
Manic tour de force that seems almost blasphemous and offensive when compared to the original, with its' moody and gritty atmosphere - and there's not many things I love more than blasphemous and offensive films. It's the sequel that expands on the lore maybe a little too excessively for my liking, already falling into some minor continuity issues, but given that it has a lot of comedy elements, I'm mostly fine with it. The gory scenes were executed very well, especially that vouyeristic shots of Leatherface at work. Speaking of Leatherface, he's getting close to becoming my all time favorite villain. Wild ride that showcases better sides of Tobe Hooper's uneven filmography. And despite it's overall humorous tone - still creepy. Good stuff.
