ABOUT THIS LIST
All the movies on this list used to be on my Chronological History of Queer Interest & LGBTQ+ Cinema list until June 22, 2020.
Because of a bug/limitation that started in the spring of 2020, it is now impossible to browse a Letterboxd list that contains more than 12,800 entries past the 128th page. Sure, you can add as many movies as you want to a list, but the movies you add end up in limbo once you cross the 12,800 mark. I was hoping for the bug to be fixed, but alas, I lost hope.
Because the ability to browse every single page of a list – not just the first 128 - is quite important to me, I decided to move the movies that fell into the ‘’minor interest’’ category to their own list. The ‘’minor interest’’ category typically includes films that are not entirely LGBTQ+ focused, but may include LGBTQ+ subplots, supporting characters, or sometimes subtext, homoeroticism, or just plain gay sensibility.
Most of the movies on this list, but not all, come from the ‘’minor interest’’ category on the CGiii website.
These movies might be separated from the others for now, but there is no reason not to give them the love they deserve. Many are quite good and don’t warrant the vitriol they were getting in some of the comments for just showing up on my Chronological History of Queer Interest & LGBTQ+ Cinema because they were not queer enough to make the cut.
