It has a lot of good qualities, but just about everything didnt click with me.
Carol, which might be 2015's most critically acclaimed film, was slightly polarizing with audiences. A ton of its viewers landed in the critic camp by absolutely loving it, but some also were left cold. As did I. This is a film that has a lot of nice qualities. The score is sweeping, the cinematography, costumes and art direction fit the 50's period wonderfully. Blanchett and Mara both shine in some of their most deviating of roles. But nothing clicked with me. The dialogue, the story, the structure, the relationships, in just about every department i was left cold and wanting more.
