musicmoviesme’s review published on Letterboxd:
The first act of this is when it was at its best. As the plot progresses, I could see the clear transformation of both setting and character development switching. The thrill and suspense produced initially was due to the mysterious nature of the island, and the evocative presence of the patients and staff.
Both Leo and Mark were great. However the shift from suspense-thriller to psychodrama caused it to lose the grip of its momentum on me. The story loses the most steam in the final act, where it should be acquiring the most.
Having said that, overall it was an absorbing movie to watch.
