Letterboxd — Your life in film

Somehow a fight between a haunted car and a bulldozer was incredibly boring.

Profoundly not for me.

Fun opening. Starts to drag after and never really recovers. Surprisingly boring despite the premise.

Interesting mood early in the movie. The ghost story didn’t work for me. Wish it was just about people hanging out in a lovely beach community.

Enjoyed the look of the movie and certain sequences, but just wasn’t a fan of Warren Beatty in this.

I really hated this.

Maybe the most accurate nightmare put to film I’ve seen.

Episodic and not every episode works as well as others. Still, I enjoyed the medieval/fantasy pastiche and Dev Patel in the overall sense. Wish we got a little less of the adventure story and a little more of Gawain prepping for his journey.

Not everything has aged well, but the most egregious offender is the dated CG stuff. When it relies on practical effects and action off screen, it’s still a lot of fun.

Okay, but a little uneven throughout. Enjoyed Cage and the kid from Hereditary and thought they worked well together. Some of the small supporting cast didn’t work for me. Cage really sells the grizzled dude vibe, which is no small ask, but he also brings the Cage-factor, so expect people to react to moments in the movie with inappropriate laughter.

Loved everything but the story.

Pretty okay. The cast is fun and the movie works when they’re together saying words to one another. Action scenes are on the dull side. Could really use an interesting villain.
