    Promising Young Woman

Couple of good scenes, but largely too flashy for my taste. Probably would have enjoyed it more in my 20s. Love that it came out at Christmas.

  • Hercules

Some fun parts, but not the Disney I was looking for. I’m glad they let DeVito play a lusty satyr.

    Another Round

Really good. Not entirely certain what my takeaway is supposed to be, but I look forward to thinking it over. Really strong start - good parts in the middle, but drags a little - great finish.

  • Nomadland

Really great and emotionally affecting in varied ways. McDormand’s quiet performance is really something. Somehow everything from mountain ranges to Amazon warehouses is beautifully shot. Chloé Zhao is an incredible talent.

  • The Seventh Seal

    The Seventh Seal

Great Middle Ages vibes. Very strange and fun. Sydow and Björnstrand make an interesting knight/squire duo. The play/religious march scene really stuck with me.

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame

    The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Pretty good. More cinematic than most Disney animated features. Frollo is great. The gargoyles as comic relief are underused and feel really out of place when they are. This movie is for kids?
