    Excellent surprise. The pitch sounds niche and slight and diminishingly Indie™: what if Encyclopedia Brown grew up to be a failure and had to solve a grown-up mystery? But Adam Brody as Abe Appelbaum, Kid Detective (it even says that on his P.I.'s office door) fulfills the promise of the premise.
