Timothy Patrick Boyer’s review published on Letterboxd :
One of the biggest surprises of the year, Creed succeeds by not succumbing to its genre’s cliches. This is a patient film, with well-written and portrayed characters, and Coogler’s control and patience behind the camera makes moments that would otherwise cause eyes to roll pack an effective punch. Sylvester Stallone is passionate about this character, and his commitment to his performance here shows it. This is the best he’s been in a long, long time, and he’s only one of the many reasons why Creed is, by far, the best boxing film in years.
