MyMirrorLies!’s review published on Letterboxd:
Epics rarely come this beautifully packaged. The grand scale epicness of some films usually allow for a bit of sloppiness that we tend to dismiss, but Ran never misses a single, solitary step. Kurosawa intentionally shows us frames with weight and gravitas, every time. Painting after painting in the form of celluloid. It zips by at 2h40m’s. Required viewing for anyone who considers themselves lovers of the medium.
