Can we lead a blameless life in America? Our country is built on the backs of have-nots. We, as the haves, bear guilt. But what does that mean? Would we trade places with them? Are we willing to lose so they can gain?
Inequality, rather than self-loathing or fear of the other, is the evil permeating the mythos of Us, and the audience is left to determine who exactly we empathize with, and what that says about us.
