I can't express adequately enough how hard this film hit me. I can't think of the last time I've sat silently through credits with tears in my eyes. There's definitely a lot of good up beats throughout to help bring you through the experience of something so heavy.
Everyone in this movie was stellar. It was such a stressful watch. I think this is my fave Spike Lee Joint to date.
I can honestly say I've never seen a film that hits it out of the park the way SPEED RACER does. This is one of the most visually stunning films I've ever seen, and it sets out to be exactly what it was meant to be - an adaptation of a cartoon.
I'm completely gutted that I've waited 10 years to watch this and that I haven't had the chance to see it on the big screen yet.
It took a premise and characters one would otherwise not give two shits about and brought to the table what is needed from Hollywood blockbusters.
