Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2016
I can't help the fondness I have for the universe Rowling has created. However...
I'm getting the feeling that Eddie Redmayne only plays one character. His little head tilt, the awkward posture... it was the same when he was playing in The Danish Girl. And it wasn't that great there either. The plot is not that great, the CG is poor. The Obscurus is terrible, that floating crazy cloud is just not that great. It made the action scenes dull.…

Collide 2016
It's bad.
I don't even know why I went to see it.
Oh, yeah. I like Nicholas Hoult and I like Anthony Hopkins. Just from the trailer alone, I kinda knew this wouldn't be a masterpiece of action movies or anything.
The dialogue was horrible, Hoult and Felicity Jones pretending to be American was also bad. Hoult sells it sometimes, but Jones was terrible. Honestly, it was laughably bad.
The cliches and the plot holes met in a crazy frenzy… -
Mechanic: Resurrection 2016
The only good thing about this movie is Jason Statham, who is eternally watchable, even with a dumb script. He has the charisma to carry this movie, but everything else is ridiculous and cartoony.
The plot is rushed and weak, with seriously dumb ideas showcased on every level. First off, Statham and Alba's 'love story' is ridiculous. She is supposed to be the bait, which he knows, but he still falls for it? Okay.
They seriously milk it with Alba… -
The Do-Over 2016
Better than Jack and Jill and some other "masterpieces". But still vapid and boring.

The Angry Birds Movie 2016
My expectations were very low, I thought it would be a very bland movie cashing in on the fact that Angry Birds is a household name by now.
Clearly, it wasn't hugely impressive, it had a lot of things missing. But it was good, it was an okay movie for kids. The movement was very well animated, which I believe is very important. It wasn't a Smurf-style hypnotising slow movement shot from the same angle. The characters jolted around, there… -
Bad Moms 2016
A huge movie cliche, but fun. I did laugh atmany jokes, even though the movie was on autopilot. The romantic interest was shoved in there just because, the dramatic scenes were just not good because the movie didn't give time for the characters to connect with the audience. At one point, as I was watching this movie, I was thinking that I had no idea what the characters' names were. Still, I think it's fine for a summer comedy, the three leads are funny and even though some of the humour is on autopilot, it was not bad.

Ghostbusters 2016
The movie is fine, for a summer blockbuster comedy. The trailer definitely lowered the expectatons and suggested that it would be quite horrible. It wasn't horrible. If you're a very huge fan of the original, then you won't like it, but I tried to judge it as a stand-alone film and so, this is what I think.
What worked:
I liked some details to the story and the background of the ghosts and how they were related to New York.… -
Star Trek Beyond 2016
The crazy fast paced editing and the dark scenes matched with a lot of light flashes was getting annoying. I couldn't make out most of the set or what exactly was happening because the flashing lights and the fast paced editing, cameres swirling around everywhere were quite annoying.
Some of the plot devices were quite cliched and the villain was weak, his motives were only rushed in at the very end. I liked Scotty's character, which is not a surprise,… -
Central Intelligence 2016
Considering that it looked like a standard comedy, it had me laughing loudly at parts and the two main stars' charisma really comes through. There are some standard jokes and at some points Johnson's acting can become questionable (although he's supposed to play an awkward person, so it's good enough). Meanwhile, Hart is very likeable as usual and keeps the movie going. The classic big guy/small guy jokes work quite well, it was fun overall.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 2016
Seriously surprised by the many positive reviews, well... the 3 star reviews. Nobody really thinks this movie is a 5 star movie. But it's not a 3 star movie to me either.
The plot is dragged out, based on an annoyingly false premise. Oooh, I'm Batman, Superman destroyed some stuff so now I'll go torture people because he's the monster, not me! I would've liked the plot a lot more if Batman was not portrayed the way he was. He…
