Tyler Featherstone’s review published on Letterboxd:
Very rarely does the horror comedy work for me. "Housebound," a little film from the land of the Kiwis, is a shining example of one done well.
We have Kylie, who after one too many run-ins with the law, is forced into house arrest at her parents place. She catches wind that her mother thinks the house is haunted and from there the story sprawls.
Some great characters (I really liked the mother) and funny lines; the story twists along, always keeping you guessing what's coming next and who's behind it all. From first time writer/director Gerard Johnstone, this is definitely one to check out - even if you're iffy on the horror comedy genre.
