I didn’t really know what to expect. I read about it in Entertainment Weekly and it said it was about a coven of witches who danced. I am all about weird stuff, so this was right up my alley. Mother! (2017) stunned me in the best way. Black Swan (2010) made me feel less alone. I absolutely adore these stomach churning, uncomfortable, pensive movies. They make me feel normal somehow. Perhaps I relate to these types of movies because I feel consistently insane.....Call me crazy but this really broke through a couple of barriers in cinema. DAKOTA JOHNSON AS A RED HEAD— I DIED. She can really act? After that fifty shades of grey mess I really didn’t think so. Sure, movies are supposed to make you laugh and have a good time with friends and family. But movies can also shift your perspective and vision of life. I can watch a million comedies but most of that doesn’t stick like these A24, independent movies do. I find it is a great thing to be uncomfortable. This odd and queasy feeling makes you really think. It sticks.
Bottom line: It was so fucking weird and I fucking loved it.
P.S. I was half drunk on red wine watching this and probably took it way out of context...#bestwaytowatchamovie #goodnight
