I'm probably supposed to praise this to the heavens as a "film fan" which I like to call myself now quite frequently but I don't and I don't think I ever will. it is a cinematic masterpiece no doubt, simply because of the way it IS. while watching it I couldn't tell in the least that this was about 50 years old! it's film making that revolutionized the entire art form and introduced the sci-fi genre that we know today. you can tell very easily where George Lucas and the like got their inspirations from this. now that I've seen 2001: A Space Odyssey I feel like every space film ever is gonna remind me of one or the other shot from this. and here we go, it was phenomenal, performances were very very well done and it delivered what everyone promised me it would but nevertheless I still can't give it a higher rating cause... I got bored. look I love watching films but at some point I just lose interest in slow burn pieces like this one but this is my personal opinion here so yeah there ya have it. that's what I'm writing reviews for on here right. but dammit if I didn't tear up over that robot, he was my favorite.
