Usually foreign directors remaking their own movie in Hollywood are the saddest type of project I can think of, but I only have respect for this particular one. I think Dick Maas only did this to 1) use Love In An Elevator in the end credits and 2) have a scene with Ron Perlman, Michael Ironside, Dan Hedaya and Edward Herrmann sitting at the same table. And while he was there he got himself Discount Christian Slater in the lead, snatched Naomi Watts right before Mulholland Drive, added a couple of new death scenes and an amazing ending made possible by CGI, ignored the low budget (for an American movie) and made everything cheekier and funnier.
