I love how movies from the 90s sound and look. They’re not shot on film or dubbed on lousy mics because of artistic choice but out of necessity and it creates a warmth that feels more genuine than movies shot like that today. This one had me hooked the whole time. The first half moved fast and I mean REALLY FAST. At first I thought it was a little off putting, and granted it took away from the emotion I coulda felt at the end, but I understand why they did it that way. Ashley Judd was great in this and absolutely fucking stunning. They honestly should’ve made her look worse for how much shit her character went through. Had a hard time watching her destroy that beautiful green ford though. I’m always happy to see Tommy Lee Jones in any movie, even if he is a snitch, and Bruce Greenwood was fine as the villain, but nothing will ever top how scary he was in ‘Gerald’s Game’. On an unrelated note, RIP the legend Alex Trebek.
