Happy to report that basically nothing is lost by viewing Gravity on a much smaller screen in 2D.
It's still unbelievably harrowing and impossible for me to understand how the film was made. For me, the acting was better this time around than the first. I absolutely love George Clooney's character, the annoying veteran anyman (where anyman happens to be an astronaut in this case). And Sandra Bullock is fantastic the whole way, but takes it to another level after arriving at the Chinese space station.
I'm curious how long it will take for a film to equal Gravity's technical prowess, which I think, despite all its praise, has still been underappreciated. This is a legitimately groundbreaking movie, that also happens to be well-written and effectively acted. An instant classic.
