I mean, the number of moving parts meant this was *always* going to be a bit of a mess, but it still succeeds as a cinematic event for those who have been paying attention (which, to the credit of the MCU brainchildren, seems like it's been most people).
Endgame has a lot more humanity than its predecessor (and yes, we might have the extra length to thank for that), character-based humor and genuine pathos.
Was the spectacle of the battle scenes mostly disposable? Yeah. But if you have any affection for these characters, you're going to have a good time.
