This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Third time in theaters and I swear it's gotten better with each subsequent viewing.

Only thing "new" I noticed this time, and in retrospect it's so glaringly obvious, is that Antlers Holst is implied to be seriously sick/dying. Not sure how I missed out on that considering right before the finale Angel sees him whoof down a bunch of pills and lingers on him nervously for a few beats before looking away. You can also see prescription pill bottles on…

    The Muppet Movie

Meta humor mostly grates against my soul nowadays but the Muppets will forever get a pass in my heart. I've never meta Muppet I didn't like (wocka wocka). Muppets, Monty Python and Mel Brooks were all playing with jokes like this in the '70s to great success but I don't think any of them make me laugh more than Dr. Teeth reading the screenplay for the movie he's currently in or Kermit turning to the camera and groaning to the audience over something becoming a running gag.

It doesn't hurt that this has some of the best movie musical songs of all time on its soundtrack!

This is one of her strongest efforts to date. A completely immersive historical portrait that shifts effortlessly from relaxing to suspenseful without warning.

While it might initially feel like Reichardt is putting an emphasis on the setting and atmosphere over story, strong and subtle character work eventually takes…

Candyman (2021) prep. Second viewing, first time with the unrated director's cut, which from what I can tell just adds a few more shots of gore and not much else. Can't complain.

I liked it even more upon revisiting! Easily now one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Patient, beautiful and intellectually rewarding while still hitting all the right notes of a great slasher movie.

The potent blend of high-level violence and engaging social commentary on gentrification and…
