Period pieces are one of my least favorite genres, but I was excited for this movie given all it’s praise. The costume design, lighting, and acting are all exceptional. Of course, Olivia Colman won Best Actress, and she’s great - not sure if I agree with her winning though. The cinematography was gorgeous and easily my favorite part of this movie. The story wasn’t as strong as I would’ve liked, and it didn’t do anything over the top special in my mind. A good movie, but not a great one in my opinion.
