Film #7 of the March 2016 Scavenger Hunt
Item #7: A film featuring an actor known for comedic performances in a more serious role (Richard Pryor)
What I thought would be a simple crime drama turned out to be a racial-tension-fueled drama centering on The Working Man vs. The Union. A strong main cast, with Pryor being the stand out. I mean damn, Pryor could have become a great dramatic actor if he had wanted to. This was a really good movie, but its biggest weakness was the script. Which is odd because it was written & directed by Paul Schrader, the writer of Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, among others.
