while it can never quite capture the same lightning in a bottle that the original was— opting more for a more traditionally scripted story that— while giving the film more of an admittedly sweet narrative through-line— doesn’t necessarily always make it as funny as the original (especially given its dependence on VERY current humor that I don’t know will age as well as the original’s more broad strokes)—

IN SPITE OF ALL OF THAT— I had a fucking blast with this movie and the moments that work REALLY do work— being genuinely hilarious and insanely anxiety-inducing in the best way possible as Cohen gets even more political in the best way possible

honestly as good as a “Borat sequel in 2020” could’ve been! WOW WOW WEE WA!!
