Had forgotten that this is basically a perfect movie. Astounding, bonkers, hilarious, and terrifying. Peele knocked it out right out of the gate.
Alas, it's over. It's been a lovely last few weeks revisiting these fantastic movies with my loved one. And this still remains maybe the best modern finale for a popular franchise we've got. Imperfect and dragged out and way too long and I still wouldn't have it any other way. Reminiscent of one of those dreams where it's just one long feeling of fall and descent into an endless hole of darkness. One of the best, bleakest, nastiest tales brought to life in the most nasty, bleak, gorgeous way imaginable. Del Toro is a god among men.
