La Haine

La Haine ★★★★½

96

If you put Do The Right Thing and Dazed and Confused in a blender, you'll get La Haine.

A riveting, thrilling, powerful, and affecting look at the social and racial issues of 90s Paris which is still super relevant to this day. With absolutely gorgeous B&W cinematography and stylish editing to boot, this is one of my instant new favorites. Absolutely astounding.

And holy fuck, what an ending. My jaw was on the floor.
