Ian West’s review published on Letterboxd:
My first revisit in years and what can I say? Delivers everything I remembered, and then some—a delightful tidal wave of blood, body parts, gooey chunks, memorable quotes, and kiwi humor. In retrospect it feels like the door to the 80’s closing, the last gasp of a genre time period ready for change, and it went out with a disgusting body chunk bang that’s pretty unforgettable with its fast paced Raimi meets Re-Animator kiwi bloodbath love story.
I’ve seen a lot of movies in my time, and the last act of Jackson’s blood carnival is still one of the most over the top, bonkers slices of delightfully intense absurdity I’ve ever seen—I love it.
