PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN is my kind of cinema. Emerald Fennell’s directorial debut is confident, stylish, funny, challenging, unpredictable & most importantly, impactful. In short, it’s already one of my favorite films of 2019. Carey Mulligan delivers her finest performance yet. Wow! I’m in awe of the twists and risks this screenplay took and how well Fennell pulled them all off. I’m not going to be able to shake this one off any time soon, nor do I want to. I‘ll be championing her & Mulligan hard all year for awards consideration. Go in as blind as possible!!!
