Sure, we hadn't... We haven't worked out how to corner yet. Or stay cool. Or stay on the ground. And a lot of stuff broke. In fact, the only thing that didn't break was the brakes.
It's been a while since the last great racing film. Only Rush comes to mind, and that's 7 years ago. Le Mans '66 is quite a legendary story in racing circles. Excellent movie material, and it's about time someone poured a big budget into it.
Like Rush, Ford v Ferrari captures the racing magic really well again, and manages to make 24 Hours of Le Mans seem like a super exciting race to watch. It's hard to find anything to complain about this film, and I'm temped to give it a 4½.
The title is a bit misleading. But I guess "Shelby & Miles v Ford" wouldn't have the same ring to it.
