Ned Hinkle’s review published on Letterboxd:
I was ready to turn this off and then Julian Dennison popped up on Team Godzilla. If I’d waited and seen it on a big screen I probably would have enjoyed it more. I did get a little thrill from the reveal of the real badguy but it all seemed so rushed… would have had more impact if they were able to spend more time at the beginning with showing the world turning on Godzilla. I agree that it lost any connection to a human scale and therefore became untethered from pretty much any emotional impact. At least I didn’t get bored so an extra half star for that.
