Nick Terry’s review published on Letterboxd:
The story of a flailing relationship told through the truth and lies told during moments celebrating life and moments reflecting on death. The honesty in dishonesty showing us characters inner-turmoil in this film is really wonderful. Though Sanders performance felt fairly stiff and uninspired I felt deeply connected to Ingrid Bergman's character throughout partially because of how much expression she gives with her eyes. Maybe that contrast is intentional but my lack of connection with Sanders didn't help the rushed ending. As a whole this starts slow but becomes really engrossing the further it goes into searching for an authentic expression of love or lack there of.
