The Irishman

The Irishman ★★★★★

This film hurts. Though Scorsese has a tough time wrapping the story up, it hits hard due to the incredible direction and performances by the three leads who all give one of their best performances. Pesci especially topping everything he’s done prior. And De Niro may seem a bit dull but it’s actually one of the sharpest and subtitle pieces of acting I’ve seen in so long. And Pacino is just sublime. As you can tell the film is very much run by its performances, but it’s the performances that create the characters that makes this story so bitter.
