Love Streams 1984
love all the bits of surrealism in the last 40 minutes. the music number, the random cuts to black during sarah’s dream, the dog turning into a man who sits with robert in his living room for a few minutes…… all of this very moving
John and Gena forever!

Nope 2022
Peele is just such an exciting filmmaker and i hope he’s able to make whatever he wants for how ever long he wants. i’ll always be there opening weekend!
ive been thinking about the Keke Palmer bike slide and the shot of Daniel Kaluuya being revealed on the horse in the smoke in the final sequence since i left the theater. genuinely riveting.

Blue Velvet 1986
always thinking about the great interview where David Lynch says he sees this as a neighborhood film, prompting the interviewer to ask what he meant by that and Lynch replying “it takes place in a neighborhood”

Miami Vice 2006

Casino 1995
ive never been a fan of the notion thrown around that Scorsese only makes mob/crime films, but more specifically grouping all his films that involve mob/crime stuff into one because i always get something different and feel a different way after each of them (goodfellas, mean streets, irishman, departed, and now casino).
that being said i love this and i continue to be in awe of how Schoonmaker and Scorsese structure and edit big epics like this and in general, all time great duo!

very glad that the memoria screening tour came to my local theater, this was an absolute life changing cinematic experience! the soundscape of this is just incredible, i was truly enamored by it. my body had genuine physical reactions to it i think i jumped out of my seat like three times!!!
i am so grateful for the films of Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
