Nick Sherman’s review published on Letterboxd:
The personalities in this film are such strong characters, it is almost impossible to not be reminded of so many other fictional characters the whole time. Jay & Silent Bob, Spinal Tap, Buffalo 66, Beavis & Butthead, etc, etc.
One of the most impressive aspects of the film is the natural styling: all the subjects just wear their normal clothes and normal hair styles, drive their normal cars, sit in their normal rooms, at their normal houses, and it all is such a spot-on encapsulation of a very specific style that you could never hope to recreate artificially.
Some of the editing is also genius, with just the right length and juxtaposition of moments to build up a perfect storm of off-kilter, unintentional comedy.
