Nick Sherman’s review published on Letterboxd:
Fun anthology of cat-related tales, tied together with a story where Peter Cushing is a convincingly disheveled and paranoid author.
The container story includes some hat tips to Jacques Tourneur and Val Lawton’s Cat People, including a textbook “Lewton Bus” moment.
The script and production quality reminds me of the Hammer House of Horror series and the slew of anthology films from Amicus, so if you like those you’ll probably like this.
This movie also reminds me how awkwardly brilliant Donald Pleasence’s acting style is.
All the stories have a kind of revenge / poetic justice theme, with probably the coolest one having a kid carry out a full satanic witchcraft ritual before getting bloody vengeance.
Overall it’s an entertaining watch even if not outstandingly memorable.
