A fun movie that drops bold casting choices like a precision grenade launcher. Bam! Andy Daly! Bam! Rita Wilson! Bam! Jaime Camill!

  • Atonement

Four stars just for the fantastic dunkirk sequence.
This movie is chock full of baby celebrities! I had no idea.

The longest movie I’ve ever seen

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

The worst written BUT best directed Marvel movie? Possibly!

  • Army of Darkness

I worked with someone recently who had also been in Ash vs Evil Dead and was very disappointed to hear that Raimi and Campbell do not like this movie and don’t consider it canon.
It’s such a bold move for the franchise that shifts it dangerously close to family friendly territory without sacrificing the essential oddness of the premise.
Bruce Campbell is a MOVIE STAR here in a way that we would never see again. The windmill sequence is evidence enough of his skill as a performer.
I see nothing to be ashamed of here. Big, loud fun with a lot of invention.

That presidential portrait joke is magnificent

  • The Gift

    The Gift

Rote script elevated by expert direction and committed performances. Wish we had more movies of this caliber on a regular basis

  • Scream

Fascinating that, as a franchise, Scream has lasted long enough to see its hairstyles and clothing return to the zeitgeist.

Sre4m is still the best sequel.

  • Windfall

Really good showcase for these actors but ultimately unsatisfying narratively.

Was a pretty fun and camp Friday night movie. Very stupid when you think about it but love those snails 🐌

Del Toro is like coriander, I totally get that he tastes like soap to some people but I’m so on board with everything he does.

I feel like the whole first act of this movie could be cut out and it would be a great improvement. It suffers from an abundance of foreshadowing. The last half hour is great (Richard Jenkins made me gasp!) but I felt that I had already picked the ending very early into…

Rewatching this after Power of the Dog has made me realise how stealing from Hitchcock’s Rebecca is a sure-fire way to get 5 stars from me.
