Bizarre and thoroughly entertaining. The Favourite is by far the boldest period film I've seen in years. The film incorporates a clever, quirky script that was excellently handled by its outstanding cast. The cinematography is noticeably playful and eventually adds up to the overall evident quality of the film.
Yes, I can recognize its eligibility to be in most of this year's awards circuit, but there's just something about this film why it doesn't deserve to be called a blatant Oscar bait. It's beyond there, flickering with its noble pride through its undeniably solid quality as a film.
